These crowd pleasing beans are a real show stopper and make everyday hum drum beans surprisingly fun & delicious. The combination of sweet and hot makes the difference. They are also great for BBQ's, family gatherings and potluck dinners. To shake these beans up add some fresh chopped onion, green bell pepper & corn.

Prep Time: 8 minutes
Cook Time: 35 minutes
Makes: 6 to 8 Servings

Ingredients:
1/2 pound slab bacon, thickly sliced
and chopped into 1/2-inch dice or
turkey bacon
2 (32-ounce) cans unflavored
baked beans (B & M Baked Beans)
1/2 cup ketchup
1/3 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons hot pepper sauce
2 tablespoons honey

Preparation:
In a heavy pot or Dutch oven, add the chopped
bacon and cook over medium heat
just until the fat begins to render,
about 4 minutes. Drain fat off cooked bacon.

Add baked beans, ketchup, brown sugar,
hot pepper sauce, and honey and
bring to a simmer over medium heat.

Reduce the heat slightly to maintain
a simmer for 25 to 30 minutes,
or until flavors are combined.

Or bake in a preheated 350 F oven for 45 mins.

BAKED BEANS 2

1 32oz can pork and beans
1 small yellow onion finely chopped
1/2 lb bacon finely chopped
1 cup brown sugar
1 small container ketchup
about 2 cups
1 hearty squirt mustard

In large sauce pan brown onions and bacon
for about 8 minutes until bacon is
crisp and onions are translucent.

Next add baked beans, ketchup,
brown sugar, mustard and mix well.

Cook on high for about 15 minutes
then on low for 30 minutes.
