About Jello Shots

When allowing jello shots to set, chill them in individual servings; in an ice cube tray, or similar equipment.

Note that the water in jello shot recipes is required to allow the jello to set.

If for some reason you find your mix fails to set, you either need to add more water, or use less.

In either case, you'll need to start from scratch.

(Don't add more gelatine at a later stage - the water isn't boiling, and your shots will have a grainy texture.)

JELL-O SHOOTERS

Basic Jello Shooter

6 oz. vodka
6 oz. water
3 oz. Jello gelatin, any flavor

Think jiggly or slushy or syrupy.
Imagine the slide of a semi-solid down your throat.

Combine vodka and water in a saucepan and bring to boil.
Stir in Jello. Let set in refrigerator.
Experiment to choose the length of time you want it to set.
Longer = firmer.

Jello shots are simple to make and do their job exceptionally well.
The only other trick to them is using different alcohols
and Jello flavors to create new tastes. 

OR

Jello Shots

3 packages of Jello containing sugar
1 1/2 cups vodka
3 1/3 cups water

Bring the water to a boil and remove from heat. Slowly stir in the Jello until dissolved. Wait 3 minutes, then stir in the vodka.

Pour into individual shot-size cups and chill.

Bahama Mamas Jello Shooter

2 cups water (Boiling) to Melt Jello in BIG POT
3 Boxes Orange Jello
3 Boxes Strawberry Jello
3 Boxes Pineapple Jello (sugar Free)
1 Can Frozen Orange Juice (Don't Dilute)
1 Can Frozen Strawberries in sugar

Blend the OJ and Strawberries before mixing with other ingredients

4 Cups Rum
2 Cups Coconut Rum

Fuzzy Jello Shooter



3 oz. vodka
3 oz. peach schnapps
6 oz. water
3 oz. orange Jello

Gummy Jello Shots

1 package jello (any flavor works)
1 cup vodka
1 cup boiling water
1 pack gummy bears

Dissolve 1 package Jello into the boiling water. Once dissolved and the cup of vodka. Pour into individual shot glasses, I prefer to use disposable Dixie bathroom cups they are perfect for large quantities of shots.

After pouring drop a gummy bear into each shot
(mixing colors gives nice effect).

Hawaiian Jello Shooters

3 oz. gin
3 oz. triple sec.
6 oz. water
3 oz. pineapple Jello

This recipe can be changes to a kinda
blueish-green color by adding a little Blue Curacao.
Only slightly changes the flavor.

Two small boxes (or one large) lemon Jell-O
1 c. boiling water
c. vodka

Maraschino Jello Shooters

3 oz. vodka
3 oz. cherry brandy
6 oz. water
3 oz. cherry Jello
1 small jar of Maraschinos

Let the Jello set in the frig as normal, but after it has firmed slightly, push the cherries into the mix. Let it finish firming. Be sure to leave the stems on the cherries if you can get them that way. The stems sticking up look really cool.

Peach Schnapps Jello Shots

Sm. pkg. orange jello
1 cup boiling water
1 c. peach schnapps

Dissolve jello in 1 cup boiling water.
Add schnapps and pour into paper cups. Chill until gelled.

Variations:
Lime jello and gin, lemon jello and tequila.

Pina Colada Jello Shots

1 box 6 oz size of pineapple jello
1 can coconut milk
coconut rum
cold water

Chill rum in freezer for 2 hours before making.

Dissolve the jello according to box directions.

Depending on how strong you want your shots follow these guidelines.

For mild shots add 1 cup cold rum, 3/4 cup cold water 1/4 cup coconut milk.

**For stronger shots add 1 & 1/2 cups cold rum 1/4 cup cold water, and 1/4 cup coconut milk**

Mix with a spoon, then ladle into shot glasses of your choice. I usually buy the smallest silo plastic cups and lids and use a turkey baster to transfer the liquid into the cups. Snap the caps on and put into refrigerator. If you want a fast set put them into the freezer for an hour. Or make ahead and freeze for a while and then bring out about an hour before the party.

You can also make Blue Hawaiians doing this:

Small box / 3/4 cup of cold rum and 1/4 cup of Blue Curacao
Large box / 1 & 1/4 cup cold rum and 1/4 cup Blue Curacao

1 lb. box raspberry Jello
2 c. boiling water
1 1/2 c. vodka
1/2 c. raspberry schnapps

Dissolve Jello with boiling water. Add Jello to vodka and schnapps; stir 60 seconds. Pour into souffle cups and chill. Squeeze, suck, and swallow.

Add a dash of Peach Schnapps
(either a shots-worth or a tablespoon would do)

Optional:
Add another 1-2 cups of cold water if you don't like your Jell-O Shots this stiff.
